In March 2025, the team behind Los Mochis and Juno Omakase will open Luna Omakase, an exclusive 12-seat restaurant hidden within Los Mochis London City.

At the helm is Executive Head Chef Leonard Tanyag whose 20 years of experience and global travels
will bring a deeply personal touch to traditional omakase dining, which translates as ‘I’ll leave it up to
you’.

Distinct from its sister restaurant, Juno – the world’s first and only Mexican-Japanese omakase and
one of Europe’s smallest restaurants – Luna Omakase will present Sosaku-style Edomae Omakase, a
modern interpretation of traditional Edomae sushi, which originated in Tokyo during the Edo period.

At Luna, the 12-course daily changing tasting menu will highlight the finest seasonal ingredients and
sustainable seafood, shaped by Tanyag’s extensive expertise. The experience will begin with a
welcome drink, as guests are taken on a journey of flavours, from delicate, mellow bites building to
bold, umami-rich dishes over the course of the evening. Each course can be expertly paired with sake,
wine, or cocktails, culminating in a traditional tea ceremony that brings the experience to a contemplative close.

The restaurant’s design has been thoughtfully curated, with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame views
of St Paul’s Cathedral and the London skyline; situated on the ninth floor, Luna will be London’s highest omakase restaurant. A soft glow of ambient lighting will highlight custom artwork by Oms Rocha, a series of 12 circular paintings symbolising the moon’s perpetual cycle. Guests will dine around a traditional wooden counter, while rich wood textures and a sculptural hanging shelf displaying artisanal glassware and sake bottles create a traditional yet modern omakase setting.

Luna Omakase represents the next evolution for Thesleff Group, whose hospitality portfolio includes
the hugely successful Los Mochis, Juno Omakase, Sale e Pepe and Viajante87. The latter is the
acclaimed Notting Hill cocktail bar, the latest opening from the group, which recently secured a place
on The World’s 50 Best Bars extended list, achieved less than a year after opening under the leadership of Group Beverage Director Pietro Collina.

Markus Thesleff, founder and CEO says, “For Luna, we set out to create a fresh take on omakase, one
that feels both familiar and unexpected. While Juno uniquely blends Mexican and Japanese cuisine,
Luna has its own identity, rooted in tradition but seen through a modern lens. Drawing from Edomae
sushi, we take a Sosaku-style approach, combining time-honoured techniques with Leo’s creative flair. Each dish centres around a key ingredient that is reimagined, bringing out new contrasts and depths of flavour. Our menu reflects our journeys, travels, and memories which are always evolving, always inspired, and, most of all, meant to be enjoyed.”

Leonard Tanyag, Executive Head Chef says, “Markus and I share a love for food that is both bold in
flavour and texture. With Luna, we wanted to bring a new kind of omakase experience to London, one
that honours Japanese tradition whilst embracing innovation. Every dish on the menu is deeply
personal to me, each one inspired by a memory, experience, or emotion, that I hope will resonate
with our diners.”

With only 12 seats available each evening at each of the two sittings at 6pm and 8.30pm, Luna is set
to be one of the most coveted dining experiences in the city, told through flavours and storytelling.

The 12-course Luna Omakase experience is priced at £295 and includes a welcome drink. Drink
pairings are available starting from £190 for sake and classic wines, with premium wine pairings
offered at £295.
