Hora, the multi-sensory Mediterranean restaurant fusing cuisine, art, music and creativity, is now open on Dover Street, Mayfair.

The visionary project of London-based restaurateur Dimitris Lytras—formerly Brand Director at  Hovarda London and Group Nightlife Director at Caprice Holdings—is inspired by traditional Mediterranean family culture and the raw beauty of the coastal shores of Greece and Italy. In partnership with Alessio Matrone, founder-owner of IT Restaurants, and Pierluigi Montuoro, Co-owner  and COO, Hora brings a fresh, distinctive approach to the Mayfair dining scene. And, soon to open in Milan and other sought-after destinations.

Under Dimitris’ guidance, stemmed from his family’s traditions, and Alessio’s international businessexpertise, the kitchen is led by Executive Chef John  Skotidas, whose unique Greek-Japanese-Philipino heritage and South American upbringing, creates a rich, multicultural approach to Hora’s cuisine. Known for his culinary ingenuity across renowned restaurants like Hovarda, Mazi, Suzi Tros, and ZEPHYR in London, as well as Abra Ovata in Athens, Chef Skotidas introduces an innovative menu that honours Mediterranean seasonality and traditional flavours while pushing creative boundaries.

Menus inspired by Mediterranean Coastlines

The menu, inspired by the seasons and bold Mediterranean flavours, begins with an inviting ‘Ante’ selection—Italian for “to up the ante.” This includes shareable starters such as artisan bread with burnt hoisin butter, cod roe mousse with crispy ratte potato chips, smoked aubergine with truffle, za’atar and honey, and spiced cheese mousse, gochujang, roasted peppers, thyme.

The journey continues with four signature sections: Crudo (Raw), Flora (Vegetable), Mare (Fish) and Farma (Meat). Highlights include:

● Crudo: Coal-seared hamachi with finger lime and citrus herbs, kombu-cured seabass with buttermilk, calamansi, dill, and tiger’s milk, and bluefin tuna loin & belly with jalapeño ponzu and olive oil.

● Flora: Seasonal tomatoes with feta mousse and carob rusk, char-grilled okra with sweet tomato relish and lime kosho, and tenderstem broccoli with dill, spring onions, and goma dressing.

● Mare: Grilled octopus with fava bean purée and olive mole, Dover sole with creamy mussel sauce and lovage oil, and lobster agnolotti with bourdetto, XO, and basil.

● Farma: Chicken tsukune with caul fat and cured egg yolk, hearty ossobuco braised in red wine  andspices, served with paella rice and roasted Romano peppers, and 1.2kg A5 wagyu tomahawk with bone marrow jus and roasted salsa.

Hora’s dessert menu is a reflection of Head Pastry Chef Asuka Mizushina’s unique journey from Tokyo to London, blending indulgent Western flavours with delicate oriental influences. Highlights include the decadent Pistachio Millefeuille with sour cherry and basil, the playful Pavlova Banoffee with winter spice meringue, banana, and dulce de leche, and ice cream flavours like Hojicha & Vanilla and Jalapeño & Dark Chocolate.

Perfectly complementing Hora’s cuisine is a cocktail collection featuring beloved classics and unique, innovative creations by Hora’s young and dynamic team of mixologists. Divided into categories like Fidelis  (Faithful), Aeqa (Sea), Terra (Earth), Ignis (Fire), Eleva (Elevated), and Sinepotus (Non-Alcoholic), the menu offers something for every palate. Highlights include the herbaceous Gin Basil Smash from Terra and the bold Spicy Tommy’s Margarita from Ignis. Poised to become London’s next mixology sensation, Hora’s cocktails are as memorable as its cuisine.

The wine menu at Hora reflects a philosophy centred on sustainability and care for the land, with selections thoughtfully curated to represent the diverse elements of nature, enhancing the dining experience with a harmonious blend of flavours and origins.

An Elemental Design

Hora immerses guests in a warm, welcoming ambiance inspired by the natural elements of earth and land. Inspired and curated by Dimitris Lytras’ avant-garde aesthetic vision and executed by V Maison Italy, Hora’s interiors embrace the natural world. Earth tones, organic materials such as stone, wood, and metal, as well as greenery, blend harmoniously to reflect a deep connection to the land and the diverse backgrounds of its guests.

This design philosophy extends beyond aesthetics, creating a space that serves as both a cultural hub and a dining destination. Hora stands as a living celebration of Mediterranean culture and artistry, embodying its commitment to sustainability, creativity, authentic connection, and the creation of unique memories. The soundscape, orchestrated by Dimitris’ (co-owned) Avant Garde Artist Agency, blends traditional and contemporary rhythms, transporting guests to far off places through live performances and thoughtfully curated playlists which complement the flavours of the menu.

Hora features diverse dining areas, from intimate bar seating to a semi-open kitchen that invites guests to experience the artistry of the chefs up close. The open terrace, connected to Dover Street, will open in the summer. For private gatherings, the second level boasts a private room called Etna.  Accommodating up to 30 guests seated at a long table or 80 standing, the space features its own bar, kitchen, and DJ booth, making Hora an exceptional venue for memorable events.
