- New lighting technology enhances the global icon’s façade
- Debut set for UAE’s Eid Al Etihad celebrations
Emaar Properties has announced a spectacular new lighting upgrade for the Burj Khalifa. Featuring an advanced RGBW system, the lighting transformation combines technological sophistication with the tower’s iconic architecture. The new system will premiere on 1 December 2024 during the UAE’s Eid Al Etihad festivities and paves the way for the celebration of Burj Khalifa’s 15th anniversary on 4 January 2025.
This innovative lighting solution offers a stunning array of colours and dynamic effects, elevating the visitor experience while reaffirming Dubai’s reputation as a hub for design excellence and cutting-edge technology.
After six months of rigorous testing, the RGBW technology has replaced static lighting with addressable, colour-changing fixtures capable of creating intricate and festive lighting displays. These displays complement Burj Khalifa’s media façade and adapt seamlessly to a variety of events, all while maintaining the building’s sleek design.
Mr Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Executive Director of Emaar Properties, commented: “Burj Khalifa has always stood as a beacon of what is possible when vision meets innovation. This lighting overhaul is a testament to our continuous pursuit of excellence and a tribute to the UAE’s spirit of progress. As we unveil this stunning upgrade during Eid Al Etihad celebrations and approach the tower’s 15th anniversary, this transformation marks a new chapter in its legacy, reaffirming Dubai as a city of boundless ambition.”
This project redefines architectural lighting standards and demonstrates how technology and artistry can merge to inspire future developments worldwide.
