• Moments in the cultural calendar prove key to building office culture, according to Just Eat for Business, the UK’s leading office food delivery marketplace

  • Workers ordered enough pizzas to cover the length of 3.7 football pitches during the England x Denmark game

  • The game alone sparked a 71% growth in new customers on the platform

The England vs Denmark Euros match, which took place last Thursday, saw Just Eat for Business’ lunch time orders skyrocket.

Just Eat for Business, the UK’s leading office food delivery marketplace which provides office workers quality workplace food, saw its orders grow 23% on the match day (20th June 2024) compared with the previous year, with workers ordering enough pizzas to cover the length of 3.7 football pitches during the match!

The game, which aired during working hours, sparked a 71% growth in new customers on the platform compared with the same period in the previous year.

This order growth on this key milestone signifies a poignant shift in workplace patterns, where workers now treat the office as more than just a place to work. In fact,  two in five UK employees believe that team bonding activities (such as cheering on England in the Euros) would improve their work-life experience, and three in 10 favour informal social events.

Matt Ephgrave, Managing Director at Just Eat for Business: “At Just Eat for Business, we believe food to be a key driver in bringing people together. This is evidenced in our own data – 77% of employees believe that the social aspect and sense of community is the best part of being in the office and 16% believe that having more social events would reduce their feelings of stress at work. This highlights the importance of capitalising on key events such as the Euros, Wimbledon,  and The Olympics as opportunities to develop and grow office culture, and should be something that businesses should consider implementing nationwide.”

Just Eat for Business offers a range of lunchtime options for teams, with restaurant partners including Pasta Evangelists, Leon and Yo! Sushi. These partners, amongst others, are available for order on Just Eat for Business.
