On the 25th June, for one night only, José Pizarro will host an exclusive 6-hands dinner at Pizarro Restaurant in collaboration with esteemed chefs Carlos Martin and Sergio González from Almuñécar La Herradura. This unforgettable evening will see friends come together to celebrate a shared love for Andalusian cuisine and mark Pizarro’s month-long partnership with Almuñécar La Herradura Tourism Board, which will also be running a competition in the Bermondsey restaurant. Across the month of June, any guests who try the limited edition bluefin tuna and monkfish rose dish will be in with a chance of winning a luxury, activity-filled, gastronomic trip for two to Almuñécar La Herradura.

The trio of chefs have collaboratively designed an exclusive 7-course menu of dishes inspired by the Andalusian región. Situated 80 kilometres from Granada, nestled between mountains and a fertile valley, Almuñécar La Herradura’s unique climate and conditions have allowed for tropical crops to thrive for centuries, such as mangoes, avocados and chirimoya. Its coastal location also means that the cuisine is largely influenced by the sea. The menu highlights the region’s produce with dishes such as a buttery toasted pan brioche with avocado and white wild prawn and a bluefin tuna and monkfish rose with almonds and mango. As well as showstoppers of Plato Alpujarreño: thinly sliced potatoes cooked gently with onions, 100% Jamón Ibérico 5J Acorn fed, and green peppers and a fresh Octopus rice with langoustine carpaccio. Alongside the food, Pizarro will offer their all-Spanish wine list and a concise cocktail menu.

For those wishing to take part in the competition, take a snap of the bluefin tuna and monkfish rose dish and upload an Instagram story or post with the tags @josepizarrorestaurants, @visitalmunecarlaherradura and #AlmunecarWithJP. Winners will be awarded the ultimate 5-night gastronomic holiday, including flights, accommodation in a 4* hotel in Almuñécar La Herradura, and meals in some of the region’s finest restaurants, including FIRMVM Restaurante, MarDela Restaurante and Chiringuito de La Herradura. The prize also includes a visit and tasting at the subtropical fruit farm, a boat trip along the crystal-blue coast, kayaking to the Cerro Gordo Cliffs Natural Park and a private Tuk Tuk tour.

Seating 60 guests, Pizarro is a welcoming cave of oak wood, exposed brick and splashes of painted Spanish tile – the perfect, intimate space to host the dinner. Throughout the evening, guests will be offered a unique culinary experience and the chance to immerse themselves in this Spanish region’s rich heritage. The tickets are £95 per person, which includes the seven-course menu and a glass of Jerez on arrival.
