McVitie’s has announced the launch of a limited-edition commemorative biscuit tin to celebrate the compelling few months of sport we’re set to enjoy this summer.
McVitie’s Summer of Sport Tin features a winning biscuit selection perfect for sharing with friends and family over a cuppa during what is set to be an incredible time for British sport.
Featuring favourites like Chocolate Digestives, Jam Creams, and Chocolate Chip Cookies, the limited-edition tin will be available from 27th May throughout the summer until September.
The Summer of Sport Tin has been designed by British expressionist and sporting artist Ben Mosley, whose work can be found in private collections throughout the world, and whose use of 24k gold and precious metals is often synonymous with his unique style. From football to motorcycling, the specially commissioned design celebrates the diverse array of sport we’ll enjoy this summer, brought to life through Ben’s individual style and technique.
As a true British original, McVitie’s has a long history of commemorating significant occasions in our cultural calendar – commissioning specially designed biscuit tins to celebrate the likes of the King’s Coronation in 2023, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012, and the Royal Wedding in 2011.
British Sporting Artist Ben Mosley said:It has been a great pleasure to collaborate with McVitie’s to create this bespoke design celebrating the upcoming summer of sport. When designing the tin, I wanted to incorporate the sheer diversity of sport and incredible talent we’re set to witness – bringing this to life in my own unique style. Hopefully this summer of sport will create many incredible memories for friends and families around the country – shared over a cup of tea and a biscuit of course.
Aslı Özen Turhan, Chief Marketing Officer at McVitie’s, said: “At McVitie’s we’re proud to be able to celebrate this period in the British cultural calendar, and what is set to be an incredible summer of sport. We wanted to provide fans with not only a winning selection of biscuits to enjoy with family and friends, but also a keepsake for the occasion. Artist Ben Mosley did a beautiful job designing this tin, and we hope people look back at it in years to come and remember what an incredible summer of sport it was!”
McVitie’s Summer of Sport Tin is available from 27th May in UK supermarkets and retailers including Morrisons, Amazon, and WHSmith (RRP: £4.00) and will be available from May – September 2024.
