If you missed out on trying McDonald’s purple milkshake, here is how you can try it for a fraction of the price and with real ingredients.
The ‘Grimace Shake‘ is now officially off menus following its week-long promotion. It hit UK markets over two years after its initial release in America.
The drink’s cost varies depending on location, but on average it was sold at £2.69 for a medium and £2.99 for a large.
Nick Drewe, trend expert at WeThrift, has shared how you can make the drink for just £0.52 per serving—82% cheaper if you had bought it in-store.
So what does the Grimace Shake taste like?
The drink is a vanilla milkshake base that has been blended with blueberry syrup. It contains no fresh berries and unfortunately does not contain whipped cream or sprinkles when compared to the US variant of the drink.
According to the McDonald’s website, a medium-sized Grimace Shake surprisingly contains 11g of protein but has 367 kcal and 56g of sugar.
This recipe uses fresh ingredients, which ultimately taste better and provide some nutrients.
