A Scottish company has secured a national listing in Tesco to help bring functional mushrooms to the mainstream.

Love Mushrooms has launched in over 250 stores with its range of tinctures and capsules.

Each SKU is available at £9.90 and they are on a permanent 3 for 2 promotion with a Tesco Clubcard.

The Love Mushrooms range of capsules includes Reishi, Cordyceps and Lion’s Mane (15000mg / 30 capsules). There is also a Lion’s Mane tincture and a Cordyceps tincture (15000mg / 30ml). All are certified organic and suitable for vegans and, depending on the supplement, may enhance memory, sleep or performance.

Love Mushrooms is the brainchild of long-term friends Erik Lang and Smith Feeney who have their own organic mushroom farm and laboratory in the north of Scotland.

Instead of alcohol extraction, the company uniquely uses an ultrasonic assisted extraction (UAE) technique, which is the most efficient extraction method and preserves the natural compounds to ensure high purity and stronger extracts. Their tinctures are also the only British made alcohol-free tinctures, which ensures a great taste.

Erik, 38, from Love Mushrooms said: “Our dream is to make the highest quality functional mushroom tinctures and capsules available to people at a price that isn’t a barrier, instead of them being seen as a luxury product.

“We’re excited to have our first national listing in Tesco and to be on a permanent Clubcard deal.”

Smith, 38, said: “We’re both fascinated by the benefits of mushrooms and how closely they’re connected to our wellbeing. Research has shown that humans share 50% of our DNA with mushrooms.”

A spokesperson from Tesco said: “We’re delighted to be stocking Love Mushrooms capsules and tinctures in our stores across the UK. They are on offer to our Clubcard customers on a permanent 3 for 2 deal, giving people a high quality and affordable everyday British product.”
