This July, Pophams – purveyor of artisan pastries, pasta and homeware – will celebrate the fifth anniversary of its London Fields bakery and restaurant with a special ‘greatest hits’ evening menu, featuring some of the most popular and beloved dishes served at the pasta restaurant over the past five years.

Available in the London Fields restaurant from 22nd to 27th July, the limited-edition menu will feature a curated selection of small plates and freshly-made pastas inspired by traditional Italian flavours and methods, showcasing Pophams’ signature creative style.

Available à la carte, highlights from the menu will include Spoja Lorda, a Romagna-style pasta filled with Isle of Wight tomatoes and ricotta salata; alongside Taleggio Cappelletti with red wine macerated grapes and hazelnuts – a favourite amongst diners from the restaurant’s original opening menu in 2019. Smaller plates such as Stuffed courgette flowers with ricotta and Amalfi chilli will also be on offer; while the Sticky toffee croissant pudding is a celebration of the bakery itself, featuring Pophams’s signature laminated croissant dough soaked in an indulgent caramel syrup, served alongside a velvety crème fraîche.

The drinks menu will draw similar inspiration, featuring standout cocktails from the past five years including a seasonal Fregola grape limoncello spritz; a Clarified Bloody Mary; and an Espresso cold brew martini, which incorporates surplus ingredients from the bakery to reduce waste – seamlessly tracing the transformation from bakery to restaurant. A special selection of wines will also feature on the limited-edition menu, carefully curated by Restaurant Manager, Lia Temple.

Pophams opened the doors to its neighbourhood London Fields bakery and pasta restaurant in July 2019, following the opening of the original Islington bakery in 2017. Led by Executive Chef Phil King and Head Chef Rae Arends, the chef team partake in the daily ritual of hand-shaping hundreds of individual pieces of pasta, working with seasonal British and Italian produce to create pasta dishes and small plates designed for sharing, served alongside a range of exciting wines from a range of independent producers.

Pophams was originally born out of the idea to bring an innovative spin on traditional viennoiserie baking techniques. Now with three sites, a pasta restaurant and a homeware brand, Pophams provides a platform for craftsmanship across food, art and design.

The 5th anniversary ‘greatest hits’ menu will be available at Pophams London Fields from 22nd to 27th July. Book online here.
