One of Australia’s most innovative and awarded cocktail bars, Maybe Sammy, will take up residence at Vesper Bar for an exciting one night takeover of  the illustrious and lively bar.  The takeover on Thursday June 20, 2024, will also celebrate summer solstice, marking the longest day in the year in the northern hemisphere. With the collective experience of an award-winning bartending team hand-selected from some of the best bars in the world, Maybe Sammy is one of Australia’s most renowned cocktail bars. Most recently, Maybe Sammy was announced as the #1 in the world as part of the 2023 Top 500 bars awards whilst also retaining the title of The World’s 50 Best Bars – Best Bar in Australasia for the fifth year running. World’s 50 Best Bars also recognised Maybe Sammy as #15 in the world in the 2023 awards.  

The takeover of Vesper Bar will be the bar’s first popup outside of Asia, offering guests exclusive access to Maybe Sammy’s signature cocktails and style, served up with a London twist. Main sponsor, Flor De Caña have partnered with resident bartenders, Hunter and Manuel to design a special tropical coffee margarita crafted with the brand’s premium 12YO rum. The takeover will also see a collection of six exclusive cocktails showcasing the signature style of Maybe Sammy, where modern interpretations of classic cocktails are delivered with theatrical flair.

The talented culinary team at The Dorchester, headed up by culinary director Martyn Nail, have designed a food menu to complement and enhance the cocktails, available exclusively for the evening of the takeover. The pop-up menu will include fresh dishes inspired by an Italian summer, influences of which are echoed in Maybe Sammy’s cocktail menu. Mixologists, Hunter and Manuel will also offer a ‘Slice of Hospitality’ masterclass in the afternoon, delving into their unique and playful concept before an evening of cocktails and fun bringing the best of Sydney to London.
